Reynaldo Pulido
Reynaldo is a Puerto Rican/Mexican music therapist, composer, multi instrumentalist, educator and reiki master healer based in Brooklyn and Barcelona.
He is currently working as a music therapist in medical and mental health, focusing on Latin American youth and suicide prevention and providing support for those experiencing various traumas.
In addition, he works as a music psychotherapist and research scholar at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. Reynaldo also serves as a teaching artist in New York public schools emphasizing social tools, self-care, and creative expression.
He balances this with his work as a freelance composer and therapist in private practice. He’s currently specializing in sensory motor psychotherapy.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he received his dual Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz/Classical Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
He pursued postgraduate studies in Psychology at the University Albizu Campos in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and obtained his master’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Barcelona.
During his time there, Reynaldo spent several years working in hospitals and geriatric settings before transitioning in 2015 to complete a research fellowship and clinical specialization in Music Psychotherapy at the renowned Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Simultaneously, he is a Reiki Master and he trained between the years 2009 through 2020 with the yoga and Reiki master teacher, Xenia Rivero, in Puerto Rico.
Reynaldo has fourteen years of healthcare experience. Through his work he has treated patients and families from culturally diverse populations and worked across the lifespan from pediatrics to end-of-life care. He specializes in addressing various traumas, including those in palliative care, oncology, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and issues related to race and gender identity, among others.
